Another Day At Tilly's Hill 8 - 21 - 18
Artifact Jack joined me for a little screening at Tilly's Hill . I was finding a lot of artifacts but not what I was looking for once I got below the junk I found a point . Jack found a Gunther right on top to start his day then a Silver Lake late paleo to early archaic 11,000 - 7,000 BP and a little quartz bird . I found car parts a bucket a large horse shoe Some hand forged iron parts some buttons / square nails a bunch of glass and a rose spring arrow point . It's always a treasure hunt at Tilly's Hill the last photo is Jacks surface find and first photo left bottom is his silver lake point with his other finds .

Nice looking finds. Shame you got into the trash before you hit artifacts, but those are some cool looking buttons.

Nice finds , did you probe an area first or just start digging because you know the spot is good?
A little history I've been surface hunting this area for forty years and Tilly's Hilly is just 2 1/2 acres of a very large series of camps . I have permission to screen all of Tilly's hill and started about five years ago and thousands of artifacts have been recovered . And to answer your question no probing we just started digging where we found surface finds and keep working a grid the best we can . We have only worked an area about 100 x 100 feet all by hand carefully we have a long ways to go thanks for your interest . I posted a photo of a surface find from to day .

Great finds, you are very lucky to have a site like that. Can we see the little quartz bird? or am I not seeing it.

Always something cool, good spot you have. Have you ever found any old coins, thought you might but never recall seeing any?
