Found this in southern Otero Cty. NM Can anyone identify this? Can not find in big Overstreet book.

I think it may have been made just for decoration, or just a guy showing off his art work.

I agree an eccentric. They were having fun and showing of their skills. Nice artifact.

Due to the offset shape and serrated edges I would speculate that it was used as a hafted knife. I've seen similar examples of offset blades inserted into bone handles found in situ at archaeological sites in books on the subject. All artifacts are great finds! You have an object that made some persons life a little easier a long time ago!
