My family and I found these over the years on friends ranch land. 20181117_091250.jpeg 20181117_091315.jpeg 20181117_091341.jpeg 20181117_091329.jpeg 20181117_091300.jpeg 20181117_091543.jpeg 20181117_091404.jpeg 20181117_091440.jpeg 20181117_091452.jpeg

Very nice collection! :icon_thumleft: It's always special when you can find those older artifacts.

Nice old stuff. The west is so vast, it seems like it would be hard to find sites out there. I visited CO once and looked for points. Walked miles and miles and never saw a flake. Gary

I'm not at all up on Paleo points from the far West, but I wondered if that first one might be a Haskett? I know, personally, I would regard a Haskett as the holy grail even more then a Clovis if I lived where they could be found. But, of course, maybe it's not a Haskett at all. They are very rare as I recall...

it wouldn't go by that name here. These are all pretty common out here. There is some discussion as to if they ever really went out of style completely.

Though it is hard to type from pics the first one could be a Parman. All are decent points though and older stuff too.

Great group of points. Cool Cascade points in the bunch, but a couple look a bit older to me. How are you typing them?

Cascade Phase points are great, Kennewick Man carried one in his hip for much of his adult life.

My little brother who has a masters in archaeology (I know, the A word!) and working on his doctorate, says Agate basin or Haskett #1 and #2, #6. #3 (Tip broken and resharpened) and #4 could be projectile points or knives, but the bases are ground, so ? #5 and #7, #9 and #10 he didn't say, but unclemac is right with Cascade I think, I am no expert, I just like finding them! #8 Great Basin Stemmed Paleo. The case:

Nice group of early points but none are Hasketts. Flaking technology is incorrect.

Yes, there are 3 iron/steel points. My father found all 3.
