I have found pottery in the past of certain consistency, but this piece is odd. It is not glazed as far as I can tell and has a faint grit. The green is algae I think, but for the most part the shard is smooth. I am not sure if it is native or modern. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Well I guess it fooled me, it feels so much like pottery if not native. Strange stone, as limestone doesn’t occur in abundance in my area. Stone has faint glitter in the light now that it’s dry and curves forward towards the grooved side. Could it be some other stone or is just an isolated occurrence of limestone? Regardless Thanks for the help!
I probably shouldn’t reply to my old solved post, but I wanted to show the picture of the faint glitter that is throughput the rock. In the photo they show up in the right corner and in the middle on the second picture, thanks .
