A friend of mine had this piece, he said he had traded for it years ago. He didnt really have any information on where it came from. I didnt give much for it so if its modern it was still worth what I paid for it. It looks like a stillwell to me, but I would appreciate any opinions on it. 0126192119.jpg 0126192119a.jpg 0126192119c.jpg 0126192121.jpg 0126192120a.jpg

Classic Stilwell points have parallel sides on the blade, not incurvate. Here's a pic of a classic Stilwell. The base on your point doesn't look right either. Too thick and heavy. Also, all the serrations on your point are perfect and undamaged. Either not a *classic* Stilwell or maybe a modern made point. Just my 2-cents. Gary

The base looks big as if the point has been resharpened several times. Also the base has a Hardin look to it. I would guess modern but hard to tell from a pic.

I agree - it does not look right to me. I see no mineralization on on it.

Thanks for the comments on it, I was skeptical of it myself. Arrow, it looks different on each side of it, like maybe if one side had been laying exposed on the surface . Thats the only thing that made me think it might be ancient, but I really doubt that it is.
