I decided to go out yesterday I took the boat out for the first time in a few months it was cold but it’s first time the river hasn’t been frozen over so I wanted to get out before it re freezes this week.
I found more quartz pieces than usual for the places I went. This was first one I found I think it’s a Kirk too bad about the tip damage :

It was laying rite on top and about a foot to the right was a small black triangle point you can see it in the first pic ... just tip was showing I pulled it out of Sand left it on top for the pic

This was a heart breaker would have been a killer .... really would love to know what kind of base it would have had

Great hunt and pics. You have tough conditions to hunt in, some of those places would test your eyes. That Kirk or ? is a very nice quartz point.good job...

Good job, and good eyes to find some of those ! The nice quartz point looked easy to spot, but the rest not at all. I am still waiting on the day I can find two points visible at once like you just did. Not easy to find early archaic notched points in quartz. I wouldn't argue with it being a Kirk, and the base also reminds me of the Decatur style. The heartbreaker with base missing looks to be rhyolite and possibly a broadspear type, maybe Susquehanna related?

Nice finds! Did you by chance stop by the Royal Farms on 404 in Queen Annes yesterday morning? I saw a guy that was towing a boat there and I thought I bet that guys going point hunting. I was on my way to Calvert Cliffs to fossil hunt.

I agree the broke looks to be ryholite I find a lot of nicely crafted ones missing the bases. I wasn’t a 100% of the Quartz being a Kirk but it seems to be more Kirk than anything else I was lucky it was laying rite on top looks like it just came out of the bank or sand recently it didn’t have any algae or river stain on it. This time of year is nice the waters clear and algae is gone

Nope wasn’t me I live close to there but I left from the house I live on the Chester river I wish I had launched from a boat ramp tho .... the wind kept the tide out so the last 1/4 mile or so I had to walk the boat back to the house
