Do you fine folks think this has been worked? If so, is it complete or a work in progress? Intended purpose? Found last year in Hunt County, Texas. I have other pics, but still trying to locate them.Thanks for lookin'.
Especially if the opposite edge (not shown but important) is blunt/rounded & looks like it's been struck, I'd say you found a piece esquilles (French term), or hammered wedge used for splitting wood, bone, &c.
Key to ID: note the way the edge flakes on the bit end in steps instead of feathering out.
Thanks for all the responses. I now understand how the business end can be so beautiful, then just go to a more natural appearance.... Uniface, I'll take a closer look at the blunt end.
