Hey gang. My brother found this over the weekend. Is this a Guilford axe? I only have a few pics so hopefully these are sufficient. Thanks in advance. I would also go with a blank or preform.

1D8B8A1D-6AE2-4B41-A184-29CF4E97957C.jpeg First off, I would like to thank my brother for posting this thread for me! I have since joined the Treasurenet and look forward to being a member of this group! So over the weekend I took my 6 year old daughter out on a “arrowhead hunt” for her first time. We went to a recently plowed field here in NC and definitely found some things. I thought I may have found a “crude” guilford axe, but still not certain. She found on her own what I believe to be a Halifax point (I think a plow may have removed the tip and a notch). Would love to hear any input you guys may have about the finds! Thanks and look forward to sharing again soon!

Welcome aboard , nice finds. That’s awesome your daughter went with you and I’m sure a proud moment when she found one that you both will always remember I’m looking forward to when my daughter is old enough she’s 1.5 years old she’s been on quite a few hunts strapped to my back so not too much longer and she can start looking

I think the rock in question is something they brought back to work later.......not a axe.

Thank you arrow! A proud moment indeed! I love sharing my interests with my children and hope that they too will grow up enjoying and appreciating history and the outdoors as much as I have. And BTW, don’t blink because it really does go by fast! She’ll be on your heels in no time! Thanks Catherine as well for your input!
