i'd really love to get a flint id on it. found it in an overhang right by a huge pack rat nest. the floor had been dug extensively by previous hunters but there was a small raised area around the edge with about 6 inches of dirt and fallen roof rock covering bigger solid slabs. nobody had ever bothered with it i guess. there was about 10 points, that being my favorite, in about a 2x2 space covered with pat rat crap and litter.

Thanks uniface. That would be my guess although I can’t say for sure. As close as I can tell none of the materials that those 3 pieces are made of are native to my area.

What's the story on the one at lower right in the first picture?

Leon County, Fl. I've scoped it and there is a clear color distinction in the material, lots of mineral deposits too. I bought it from a Thomsaville, Ga. collector in 1983 when I moved back to Fl. It has the chalky look a lot of Florida points get when they end up in sandy dry spots.

Don’t see much red where I hunt but had come across some red/white debitage earlier this summer so was hopeful. Returned to the spot a couple of days ago and was fortunate enough to find this little thumb scraper nearby.
