I am starting this thread in the hopes that the members of this forum will flood it with pictures of all the various artifacts they have found and or collected over time. I figured this thread could provide novice hunters and collectors with a vast wealth from which to learn from and compare to.

I thank you all for helping further my education as well as others.

Well to be fair it was a guess

Fair enough but when one starts making assumptions for other people based off of a guess and posting those assumptions it has a negative effect and will influence, to a degree, the way some will respond to the thread.

How many styles of net weights do you think there are? Seems like there are a few.

To be fair, the use of these artifacts is not entirely known. Net weight is the most accepted explanation, but could be a type of bola stone, or something we haven't even thought of.

Yes. That was my set up of my Ft Ancient collection displayed at the ASO show in Hilliard Ohio last January. I took home Best Of Show for the third time.

Not a stain, Kanawha Black Chert.

Thank you. My area is rich in artifacts and couple that with the fact I have hunted for 54 years and yes I have a bunch of artifacts. What you see in those pictures is just my Ft Ancient Collection.

Here's a 5.5" Paleo blade/knife from Baca County Colo, the Cimarron River which
has Folsom NMex at the headwaters, first pic is the thumb side with a sharp bit on the left curvature and running down and bottom edge to the point end,
second pic shows cortex band on right end and a faint stain of red ocher [can just make out in largest pic] at 7:00 dimple,
just above the index finger hold, that lg shot also shows the most recent reduction/resharpening along the left end and top edge,
material is probable Bell Co Texas lithics

The Cimarron River drained a hugh high plains grassland 10K+ years ago.
