Hello,

I am hoping someone can give me additional information about the items in the pictures. My mother recently passed and I found these tucked away with her stuff. I know our family does have some Indian roots, but only about 1/16 as I have been told. As I said, any information will be helpful.










The one with the curvature is extremely sharp in the inside edge, almost feels like it was for cutting.

DTCowboy, as Kantuck mentioned, condolences for the loss of your mom.

Looks like you have two points and scraper. Likely thousands of years old and would predate any of the named tribes you probably learned about in elementary school. Someone local might be able to ID them better.

Looks like all of them were probably knives the one looks like it broke early on, if you were wondering if they are worth anything I’d say very little they are common field grade points and wouldn’t be worth parting with something that your mom may have found herself and held on to.

The one on the right (most complete one) appears to be made out of Carbon County chert. It’s common in western PA and I have to assume NJ as well. I used to hunt a Carbon Co quarry a long time ago. Not sure on types. At work so no resources at the moment.

FWIW, I don't think Carbon County Chert is anywhere near that widely distributed.
