IMG_4955.JPG I have came across these to and they are out in the middle of nowhere and have no idea what they are about, also they are in southeast Colorado.

How deep are they? How big around? Are they perpendicular to the ground or sideways into the rock.

Bed Rock mortars, blasting holes from mining, natural, lots of options.

They are about 1-2 inch in diameter, bored down into the surface rock that is on top of the bluff. I haven’t cleaned them out but they are not deep - maybe couple inches. They are definitely not modern.

Now that the weather is getting nice I need to head back out there and clean out the debris to get a better look at them.
