Got interrupted on last post so will start new one. We looked awhile more after I found that last point and moved down to next spot. Right off started finding stuff but were damaged a little or a lot. First off found broke in half NSN,love these points when whole.Crude obsidian knife, an Elko in-situ and in hand-broke. Nice point with ear damage

Moved to new spot that I had been to twice but it had rained since. Took awhile but finally spotted an arrow, eased it out and darn it had a broke tip. But wait what is that off to the left of it,the tip. I did not see it at first. I probably have a dozen from that spot that I have found the tip to make them whole so I always look well. Next was a nice scraper out of a cool material that looks like crazed porcerlain. Then another arrow. Was looking at a chip 3" away and finally seen it. I remarked that we hadn't found much red OBS and bingo little red bird. Wish it was always that easy

Nice save on finding the tip! Do you think an animal stepped on it more recently, or broken in ancient times?

I honestly think that people hunting the place are stepping on them. Most tips or other parts are just inches away. Since I am one of the few to hunt there, I probably crunched several. Has a light sand covering a harder floor. Never had a spot where I have found as many brokes with piece right there. Wish I could levitate over it-no damage.

Yes Kevin it is. Called obsidian and it is a type of volcanic glass. Ranges in color from nearly clear to opaque black with other colors too, reds, green, banded. We also have a good amount of cherts and agates around here. Be safe Kevin

The white thumb scraper you posted in the last batch is the very reason it got its name.
That one needs to make the spring cover of "Thumb Scraper Illustrated"
Nice insitu's.
