Yup the state governor said to hunker down

But I had already scheduled to get off work and hit the fields. So I checked the news.

Governor’s office posts FAQ on stay-at-home order see URL https://www.wishtv.com/news/local-news/governors-office-posts-faq-on-stay-at-home-order/

Found my out in the title : Can I leave my home to exercise?
Outdoor exercise such as running or taking a walk is acceptable. However, gyms, fitness centers and associated facilities will be closed to reduce the spread of the coronavirus. While exercising outside, you still should practice social distancing by running or walking at least 6 feet away from other people.

So I hit the field next to that field I hit yesterday. I had to wade the creek, which was about 12 feet across and almost to the top of my boot. I am an ex boy scout so I had extra socks. I used to just strip down and wade across but I have evolved. Wait that was last year. Still evolving.

Here is a photo of a natural artisan well close to the creek that's been capped a long time ago.

so I found a few flakes, then found this pink fake scraper.

I was only about 10 feet from where the scraper was found when I saw the edge of the bevel in the sunlight. I took this photo of the bevel before I pulled it out, but danged if I can even find it. Its in there somewhere.

It pretty sweet with a fine bevel and notches.

Then about 15 minutes later, down on the low side of the rise I came on this interesting relic. It almost looks like an older paleo lance picked up and worked by a later culture.

Then on the way back up I saw this blade. interestingly enough I should have seen this on my prior pass. My footprints are just off the image. When I got closer I checked where my other pass prints were at and seen them. I can only attribute this almost miss to the sun. Full blazing sun is not my preferred hunt conditions.

For those interested, this is the fourth cobbs blade I have found in the last few months, since this years hunts.

Then this knapped part of something. Interesting flute like channel.

Ground conditions were good, it rained last night for a few hour. Damp but not soggy except by the creek crossing. Full sun was not the best light conditions. Was out for appprox 4 hours today, My watch broke so I don't know the mileage, but I estimate 5 miles.

Unless you were hunting the field standing next to a bunch of people, I'd say that counts as self isolation.

The fluted thing looks interesting, part of an old core?

1 vote for Lost Lake.

Blue (looks like Coshocton but it's wet) wedge is a Hopewell-era microblade core. Notice the battered edges @ top from unsuccessful efforts to dislodge additional mbs.

I'd say that counts as self isolation.

Agreed. Walking around, hunting artifacts sounds like a fantastic way to practice social distancing. The weather is going to be nice tomorrow... I’ll probably go out for a couple of hours. I haven’t had a chance in more than a month.

Kindest regards,
Kantuck
