The sun suddenly came out after a brief drizzle. It was so bright I could not see what I was taking a photo of.

The take for the day, not too bad
20200419_184745.jpg

Ground conditions were good, damp but not very wet. relatively smooth, last field of the season as others around where actively being cultivated.
Skys were overcast with 40% chance of rain. Unfortunately the overcast did not hold up, and the sun came out.

Broken on the lower left side of the wing. Peck marks are visible as well as the flaking on the wing

You can see where the wings were flaked

Loved looking at these. That’s a successful a day!
Cool little freckled bifurcated.

The Winged Banner preform is a great study piece illustrating actual manufacturing methods. Really good find.

First I’ve heard of a Geniculate Bannerstone. I gather it’s rare.

Outstanding finds! I'd be blown away to find that much of a Geniculate. I've found a handfull of fragments but nothing near that complete.
