 Conservative Texan for life...
I hunt and collect only Texas and Louisiana artifacts and I have never seen anything like it before. Thanks for sharing...

Are you sure it's coal and that it was found in La? Cannel coal beads and pendants are found in the Ohio Valley, and maybe elsewhere. I wonder if it may have been traded south for something of equal value to a northern tribe.

 Treasure every day!
It would seem we are now up a famous tributary without any means of locomotion.

I know for a fact of a canal coal bead that was found in East Central MS. There are areas that coal is exspode in MS. an LA.,where this came from your ideas are as good as mine. It was found just off the MS. river.
If you want to live life on your terms, you need to learn to crash and burn.

Nice piece!! I've only seen a couple coal items. Would be cool if you could match it up with some MS or La coal.
We are in a hobby that is supported by losers!!
