I got out to hunt for about 3 hours yesterday and did fairly well. I found a nice Celt, a nice a Point, a Drill with tip damage, a really nice Hafted Scraper, and some odds and ends Tools. No in situ on the Celt. I only saw about 1/2 of the back end and when I flipped it out I was shocked to see the Bit.

Not sure why the in situ pictures loaded sideways.

You've got some really interesting stuff in that bunch. More of the Coshocton piece up close, please. And that two-tone puzzler with the corner spur. And what material is the grey split one ?

I see lots of green and a little blue flower in the third pic. In Ohio? In March? Geez, I'd say spring is right around the corner! Gary

You must have just caught the break in the cold. I heard Ohio was in the negatives a week ago.
Very productive 3 hours there. Congratulations on finding that beautiful little Celt! Perfect hafted scraper too!

Great finds, the celt is really nice. What material is the white drill & Adena?

Not sure to be honest. It's looks to be the same material on both and it's very glossy. Both have a slight pink hue to them and the Point is full of tiny Quartz Crustals.

The last week of February we had over 4 inches of sleet that then got about 2 inches of snow on top of that and then it rained for about 2 hours turning everything to solid ice about 3 1/2 to 4 inches thick. It was a nightmare. It's been in the 40's and 50's the past week and will be in the 60's all week with 68 on Thursday.

I was happy with the hunt. My buddy didn't find one good piece. It was just my day I guess. lol
