fossis i was wondering if it was ok to md outside the fence near the hay field toward the ark river. i would think that all those people had to travel to the river for water daily. im not interested in indian relics just old coins, what do you think and what about permission to hunt outside along the river. if those indian nations were there since the 15th century, there must have been some kind of commerce. what say you dave

You better get landowner permission there suprdave. The Spiro people didn't do trade in coins. You might find some clad dropped by tourists or something. My family came to southeastern Oklahoma in the middle 1800's; my grandpa was born in the Choctaw Nation near Belle Starr's place. I'm also related to the Folsom family of the Choctaw nation. It helps a lot to get permission to detect in Little Dixie if you have relatives there and the folks know who you are. Best of luck to you.
