glass (gloss) mountains

I was planning on taking my daughter to the glass mountains next weekend to do a little hiking and treasure hunting but I was informed by the park manager that this was not allowed so I will have to find some other place in which to go
I am currently thinking about the talihina national forest in southeast oklahoma

well we went down to the winding stair natl rec area this weekend and had a blast
with the md I only found some bottle caps and recent lost change but I did a little bit of gold panning and actually found some (scored on my first try!) unfortunalty the specks of placer I found are so small I had trouble picking them out of the pan with tweezers (note to self find smaller tweezers)
