I'm here in Bethany for FAA school until 4 November. I am on night shift, so I have all day to play. Any Chance of getting together for a hunt or just to swap some sea stories? I know that it is too hot for me to get out in it right now. Being from the Pacific Northwest, the 105 degree heat makes me wilt.

Sorry, but there is no best metal detector made, I have tried so many that I have lost count.
I use CZ's, but they are heavy.
What price range are you looking at ?
I like the tone id units and like the CZ tones best.
I look at what size coils they make for the unit.
With CZ's, I use the 8" & 5" coils.
What and where do you want to hunt ?
The best unit is the one that YOU under stand.

I like Tesoro and I use the Cibola. They are a little cheaper than some and so is the Garrett Ace 250!

Thanks for all the replies. I actually asked this question because I just moved to Sillwater 6 months ago and wanted to find some other people who might like to get together and hunt. I do have permission to hunt a couple of small yards within the original city limits of Stillwater. Or, I could meet you at your site somewhere.

I live in Enid right now, about 70 miles west. I used to live in Stillwater and I hit every site I could find as hard as I could find. But I'm sure I didn't get everything. I think I left a few zinc pennies and pulltabs for ya!

Seriously, if you want any info, I kept all my research records and might be able to stear you to some good spots.

Sorry man, bad news. I can't find my stuff on Stillwater. I think I gave it to another Stillwater hunter when I left town. I guess all I can off is that the local library has a lot of info if you are willing to spend some time looking it up. That's where I got it from initially.

I have done a little recon at the Stillwater Library myself.
They have some good stuff there, including old plat maps.
