Researching old stagecoach routes, train lines, Native American trails, etc.

The title pretty much says it all. Is anybody willing to share or know where to look for old maps which show stagecoach routes, train lines, Native American trails or logging roads for Upper Michigan? Obviously anything which shows stops along these routes/roads would be key. I am looking for anything to research pre 1900. Thanks.

Thanks Chiltepin. I have a few sites which I regularly use specifically for old military forts & outposts. But I will admit the ones I use do not show any routes which were used by the troops.

Believe me Loco-Digger, I have used Google to death. I'm just seeing if anybody else is willing to share some of their knowledge on where else to look. I'll go ahead and give out one of my great sources for an amazing use on maps. Anybody living in the Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan and northern parts of Iowa areas can order copies of original land surveyors plats and field notes from the 1840s and 1850s from a company named TRYGG LAND OFFICE. These are pretty detailed and show lots of nice researchable items.

Have you checked out the Library of Congress maps of railroad routes between the years 1828 and 1900?

Have you done an archival search of the first railroad companies in Upper Michigan;namely, the;
Duluth, South Shore and Atlantic RxR; the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul RxR, and the Chicago North Western RxR?
I would be amazed if those combined sources didn't have your answer.

Any specific area? A map of "Upper Michigan railroad lines" would be like looking at a plate of spaghetti

Research back issues of newspapers in the search area. I've found much info on old train routes and stations this way.
