    Interesting Book

I came across this while doing some research of my area.. This book could maybe prove to be the key we need to effectively search our areas.. What do you guys think?

Would help with the history of the area. Finding the property owners of recent to get permission is the hardest part sometimes.
Soil survey maps are very useful finding old homes, churches, cemeteries, etc.
The deeper I dig, the more dirt I find.

I saw some of those packets on ebay. Didnt know they also sold them on amazon.
Ive often wondered if there would be enough useful info inside them for my area to justify purchasing one.
Keep us posted if you pull the trigger.

Austin ................. old maps .... the older the better .................. plenty available online and at your local library .... Where you live , there are plenty of woods to hunt .... look for old cisterns , old roads cut down into the hills , etc .....

I have that same book for Jones County. Names are associated with section plots.
Could be useful, but I have not used it to find a hunting spot yet.

I've thought about going to the library. Do some research around my area. Most of the time I ask the old folks about the areas. I Just ask around for permission to hunt an area. I think researching and old maps would save me alot of time.
