I know this is an old thread but most every thing near the water on that map including the fort is now under water courtesy of TVA

Just bought my Garrett AT Max. Going to play with the settings this winter and get out this spring into East Tennessee.
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
A Fort

Fascinating old map!
Cherokee Country. East Tennessee. 1762 Map. TNGenWeb Project (TNGenNet)
Shows "A Fort" on the map and some old towns and trails. Note that the Map is oriented North to the left side of your screen.
Check out the rest of the site. Good stuff!

Looking at this map you posted, I live in East Tennessee and Judging where Ft Loudon is located on the map, I am wondering if A Fort is Ft South West point which would be north west of Ft Loudon.
