Stumbled on this awesome site and figured fellow California detectorists might like it if not already aware.

The site is a nonprofit project to document coastal erosion, and as such have taken photos and collected archived photos of pretty much the entire California coast at something like 500-yds a shot (most from a low-flying airplane so 3/4 view, though there is a 1993 top-down series). There are a dozen or so similar coastline photos for each coastal spot dating back to 1972--when looking at a photo, click "time comparison" to see all the years. The photos are large and well-detailed, can even make out detail miles inland. Can also download the photos as long as it's for personal use only.

Just found it this week and it's already helped me find locations/foundations of old buildings that've been torn down. Used it this Tuesday to find a '44 quarter and '60 dime at one foundation, with more hotspots yet to detect and find. HH!
