Berks or Schuylkill County ?

from the Historical Society of Berks County. Mr. Francis Grosch, who operated a resort in Schuylkill County, built the "Mt. Sunset House" in 1876. The resort had accommodations for 200 guests. But Mr. Grosch, who was a stone mason by trade, preferred his trade to the operating of a summer resort. Thus after several years, the management was left to his son-in-law, Dr. Donald Moyer, a local practicing physician. After his death in the 20's the resort was sold to Mr. George Gaul, who for many years was secretary of the Grand-View Sanatorium. Under the management of both Dr. Moyer and Mr. Gaul the resort was well known for its view of the sunsets and also for its Sunday duck dinners.

building as the one in the post card it was 1 of many resorts on the South Mountain
i don't know if you can see it in the card the whole building is stone except the top
level says here in 1967 what remained of the resort was destoyed by " controlled

Thanks Mike I started thinking it Was wernersville State Hospital.

I guess they Meant Grosch operated a resort in Schuylkill County
in addition to building the Sunset House.
As Wernersville Is Certainley not & Never was in Schuylkill County.

GROSCH Ran Cold Springs in Lebanon County,
But still Nothing Schuylkill County.

Cold Spring as a resort. C.N. Blackwell and later F. Grosch both operated (owned?) the resort and experienced financial difficulties over its fourteen year course.
