I tried following the Attachments and got this message: Invalid Attachment specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator.

I've looked through the WPA Texas Guide, the Texas Gazetteer, the Handbook of Texas, 1001 Texas Place Names and Ghost Towns of Texas Vol. 1 with no luck. Of course tried an internet search with no results.

I did find this through the Southwestern Historical Quarterly site, In 1926 Eduardo Idar began publishing another newspaper, Las Noticias, which had a circulation of 2,000 and was one of the best Spanish-language newspapers in Texas.

if your talking about my picture attachments in post #3 they worked for Me
just by looking at the screen.

I just Doubled them to see if that Helps.

I also tried finding Las Noticias mentioned in other articles, Unfortunately it brings up thousands of hits
because of its Spanish meaning

But couldn't find it searching Las Noticias, Tx. or Las Noticias, Texas.

and 0 on
Las Nocias

but I couldn't find this Pic using the search either, so the newspaper search is not fool proof either.

Though it does makes me wonder if the Typesetter got the town name completely wrong.
(Liquored up that day)

Thanks for getting the images to show.

You're probably right about the misspelling of the name, or the completely wrong name. Do you think they drank much back then?:occasion14:

I tried looking up any similar names with no luck...
