    Fort Parker 1836

    Fort Parker

    A large force of Indians, mostly Comanches, attack a private fort built by Silas and James Parker near the upper Navasota River. Silas and two women are killed, his daughter Cynthia Ann (9), son John (6), Mrs. Elizabeth Kellogg, Mrs. Rachel Plummer and her son James are carried away.

    The History Channel showed a article about the Comanches going to
    San Antonio, Texas in 1860 with captured Cynthia Ann Parker she was
    abuducted in 1834. She was married to Chief Peta Nokona, she had 2 sons
    and 1 daughter by him.One of her sons was known as Quanah Parker.

    The town of Nocona Texas was named after Chief Petra Nokona
