    Old grotto

I found this old abandoned grotto back in the woods in norther Illinois this summer.
I think there was a monestary there in the early 1900s.
I found the 1865 two cent piece nearby.

Great looking grotto..Looks in too good condition to be abandoned. Looks like it was just built last week ...Either way, very beautiful and in great condition...It would definitely be worth hunting that area. Keep us posted.

Wow, what a great looking location and Grotto. Do you have the layout of the rest of the facility so you can search areas that could be more productive? I hope you'll be able to spend hours looking for and finding great treasures there. Good luck and thanks for sharing the pictures with us.
