I don't know if there are many people from the Hudson valley, but there is a legend of a $2 mil. gold cache that is buried in the Stony Point/Grassy Point/ Haverstraw area, near the "penny bridge". This is the only photo of the penny bridge area for landmark reference. I know its a legend and a long shot but in the business of MD'ing, you don't know , if you don't try..

Not sure if this is what you are looking for. Follow the river or streams, the bridge maybe modern, but the road the buggy is on, I'll bet is still there. The two side roads are questionable.

I bought one of my first metal detectors from a guy named Don Morgan who owned Magnum Detectors Sales in Haverstraw. I remember him talking about this same cache. Problem is, if it was found by someone with brains we would never know about it.
