So they are going to raise money by taking a vacation? Are you KIDDING me!!?
So since we're probably in a depression now, and not a "recession"... I wonder what's next?
A scuba diving trip to the Bahamas, perhaps?

Rom. 10:10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

Well, you might think that Texas representative might have held his function down on the Gulf where the storms just ravaged the tourist industry...

Maybe his constituents will figure he is just the sort of representation they don't need.

There's lots of folks who really enjoy 'getting away from it all'.
    They'll probably find him admirable.

IMO, they should ban private campaign contributions. Give each candidate X $ and let them run their campaign on that. The one who can most effectively operate their campaign on a real budget wins. Also not allow them to use their own money----level playing field.

    From above link:

Ethics rules approved in 2007 bar members of Congress from accepting most gifts, trips and expensive meals from lobbyists and organizations that employ them, but did not impose restrictions on campaign activity.
