Lane County area
Hi all,
I am heading up to Eugene area and have been checking out the local rules and regs. From what I can tell, you can't do much without a permit or a police visit & fine. I couldn't even find out if it is ok to detect the tot lots at the local schools. Can anyone shead some light on my dim prospects for my weekend?
thanks

Re: Lane County area
I am of sure about other jurisdictions, but a free permit can be obtained from the City of Eugene at the Parks and Recreation Office on Roosevelt Blvd near Chambers St.

Re: Lane County area
Yep, the permit is free. You just have to visit Mon-Fri. Also check out some of the smaller towns around Eugene. Most don't require permits or have much in the way of regs, so long as you don't make a mess anyway...

Re: Lane County area
Thanks everyone, I figure if there is a law against anything, I would be the unlucky one to get caught.

Re: Lane County area
i don't know how things in G.P. are right now but in medford they are writing
tickets hard and fast for little silly things and targeting people at 6:00 to 8:00
am on their way to work trying to make up for lost revenue I'd guess. just saying cover
all your bases. Dan

I know what you mean Dozer. I guess they need to pay for all the new vehicles in the fleet.
This is why I am asking, I don't want to see my name on the next court docket for vandelism.

Re: Lane County area
if you're new to this hobby, or this area, i know a place around Merlin that i have been
wanting to try for a long time. i have a tough time doing it on my own.
every time i stoop down to dig in the creek or woods, i get this uneasy feeling
from over my shoulder (big Kitty's).I tried taking my dog and spent all my time calling
him back to me. most of the good areas down here around medford
are snowed in. if you would like to get your family together and try the Merlin area,
send me a P.M. and we'll give it a try. right now I'm off work just sitting
around getting fat and lazy.
