If a river goes through logging land could you still put a claim on it? Thank you!

Good question. I don't know if CZ or WI or all the other timber companies actually own the land or just the timber there.
I do know that the roads they build are controlled by them and if you go through an open gated road they can lock you in and prosecute you. They spent lots of money to build the roads to get their logs out. Some folks have gone in and destroyed very valuable equipment and vandalized markers. I can understand their point of view.
As far as riparian rights, I don't know.
A lot of Timber land is open to hunting in the season but I was locked in last year in some roads where there was a gate but I didn't know it would be locked over the weekend. Luckily we flagged down a vehicle and that person knew someone who had a key.
Wish there was a sign there to that effect but I did go past a gate on road made by them.

If you are hiking or horseback maybe no problem but I would suggest asking the State or National governing office what to do.

Let us know how it goes please?
