Automax Precision V4 pinpointer AND the Vibra-Probe

I was at Rye Patch Nevada waiting out a snow storm at a campsite by the reservoir. (In my nice warm RV.) Decided to bundle up and walk the short distance to the reservoir to do some detecting at the reservoir shore. At one area, the Vibra probe frieked out, would not turn off. I had to take the battery out of it to get it to turn off. Decided I wanted to switch detectors, so I went back to the RV and got a different detector and also switched to my back up pinpointer, the Automax. When I got to the same spot as before, the automax started doing the same thing. It would not turn off, even when I went back to the RV. It wasn't touching metal or even near metal. There were not overhead wires and the site is fairly remote. I've never had a pinpointer react that way, let alone both of them!! Anyone heard of this before??

Did your machine act normally? Did you have to noise cancel? I would think that if there was interference affecting your pinpointers, it would also affect you main machine.
