Not very compared with what you have.

If you want a Troy and they look and feel great with an air of quality sadly lacking from many brands then go the whole hog and get the X5. Its far better.

Drawback with them all is that Troy isn't repairing them any more according to some forum posts and coils, there was never a great range, seem to be getting in short supply.

The advantage over the similar "type" Tesoro's is the build, they are rain/dust proof, plus the performance is better over a wider more balanced range of conductivities. Tesoro advantage was always price and that lifetime warranty but in Europe we didn't get either !

Another old but good detector ! Can't understand why the follow up 1270 didn't seem to sell as well though it was soooo expensive in Europe that might account for it.
