Per Detector Electronics, the Chaser must be used at above freezing temperatures. At or below freezing, don't use it. The manual does not show operating or storage ranges, so I e-mailed Detector Electronics. Ads I've seen indicated features that the Chaser at first seemed to be lacking. For example, one ad mentioned "Help Function." The menus contain some explanatory text so I suppose that is the Help Function. One Touch ground balance is another. Since you press the Ground Balance touch pad, bob the coil, then press the Detect touch pad, I guess that is one touch (of the GB pad). A European review regarded the bobbing method of GB as being "semi-automatic" GB. As to actual tracking of changing ground conditions, I don't know. Weather permitting, this weekend I will put in my 13th session with the Chaser and 3rd session with the 7" Ultimate coil. The Chaser seems like a keeper; I'm still experimenting with the various settings.
