What is best pulse induction metal detector if my alternatives are,

PI 907
http://www.igkelectronics.com/md-907/md-907.htm

Megapulse III

Ground Pioneer 4500
http://www.deeptech-bg.com/gp4500.html

SDP 2014A
http://www.deeptech-bg.com/sdp2014a.html

Anybody using those, or other impulse detector?
It not matter if i find iron bigger than nails or other small iron objects.

Hi Landis, I have no experience with these detectors, but I use deeptech Gold Stinger 2005.
I bought this detector two years ago and I am not sure whether they produce this PI or not,
but I am very pleased with this unit.
It has Auto ground tracking and thresh to get exact ground balance,It can read large iron, most small iron is not usually seen with 1 m coil.
The only drawback is that their round coils are undiscriminating, but I purchased smaller discriminating square coil.
I think it is one of the deepest PI in the world, with 1x1m coil.

Can this smaller discriminating square coil (50cm) find coins? And how deep?

Hi, this coil is perfect for findimg targets at upper to medium depths.
I got a nice coins at 15"-17" with it but you must know that this coil "see" better the bigger coins and medium sized buried objects. I made comparasion between this coil and other detector - without naming names I will say this coil impressed me.

The coil is more of a antenna -
its the circuit in the detector that discriminates.
I never heard of a Pi that Discriminates...
I would love to see a square coil - any pics or
sites that have pics ?
Bill.

The new ..Whites ..TDI..PI discriminates you can knock out most steel & iron , aluminum , and bottle caps.. and still pick up coins and jewelry................. even though it is a gold detector But you have to purposefully misadjust certain controls............

Anyone seen how these detectors work? This is very impressive: http://rexmetaldetectors.com/?page_id=7
I have seen some very interesting video footage from Bulgarian metal detector manufacturers,I am constantly looking at deep search pulse machines.Check into this fellow http://www.teknolojiekibi.com/delta_eng.html he has built some pulse units,I was reading some old post from another forum last night and the dollar figures they were throwing around were nothing like the big names.Who has the best price on the big box industrial units? Deepers I think?

This is the best PI detector: Mikron Metal detectors

I have been looking at this detector due to the claims made by the manufacturer. I am curious about the "lock in" feature that locks in the metal that is desired. Can you tell me how effective this feature is for you, ie: can you lock in "silver coin" and thereby lock out a copper penny, or is this just an iron discriminate feature. It seems that this unit can descriminate well. I like the "magnetometer" feature of Detech ssp-2100 and I seem to have narrowed the search to these two models. Do you know if the stinger 2 can be used as a magnetometer? I want to find concentrations of magnetite(black sand).

I'll add another one. DetectorPro Headhunter Pulse.

Headhunter PULSE was designed to do one thing very well... Punch deep in high
mineral sand and salt conditions for GOLD! Newly engineered PULSE circuitry now
fits into our acclaimed headphones making it the most compact underwater PI
metal detector in the world today. The Headhunter PULSE has been engineered to
perform in both salt and fresh water. The Headhunter PULSE circuitry is
controlled by a unique new Frequency control that re-tunes the sensitivity of
the HEADHUNTER PULSE to be responsive to selected metals without losing its
depth toward the selected metal. Unlike other PI detectors, turning the
frequency control back from the higher frequency position will not result in a
loss of depth for the detector. Check out the new updates for the improved model!
