Re: North Georga panning
I have no personal experience in that area, but it is in the gold belt.
I did find this visitor's write up about the area and he mentions gold being found in the area, but I believe that some of the info on gold he writes about is not accurate for this area, such as seeming too imply that the gold on the capitol building is from Brasstown Bald instead of from Dahlonega which is where the gold came from.
If you are in the National Forest be sure to check at the Ranger's Station for their rules and regulations before prospecting, I think in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, which Brasstown Bald is included, you can only use shovels and pans, the USFS website is down right now so I can't link you any info on the National Forest.
Good Luck and let us know how you do.
SEEK AND YEA SHALL FIND and when you do THANK GOD!!!
