Any good areas in Costa Rica?

Hello,

I am planning on traveling down to Costa Rica soon and will devote some time to gold prospecting. The rent there is quite inexpensive. I'm looking at some small living quarters along rivers maybe up in elevation maybe not. I may bring in some equipment at a later time.

I am still researching and any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

from what ive read/heard you would be ok/do well, if you hired some of the locals to help you. otherwise itll be the same ole story of some "rich" American robbed in a out of the way location. but use your own judgment. be safe!i had a friend go down there and he wouldnt even give a hint of its/his location for fear of being robbed or worse!
