Canon City, Colorado

Just arrived in Canon City for the second time. Last year i tried Red Canyon and Grape Creek, as well as the Arkansas River itself, but found absolutely nothing. Eventually i ended up travelling up to Cache Creek near Leadville and did find a very small amount of fine color, but nothing worth making a second trip there. Does anyone know about any locations closer to Canon City that might be productive ? My idea of "productive" would be something better than panning five buckets of dirt for ten dollars worth of gold.

5 buckets for $10 of gold is pretty good many places in CO. To get better you need access to a private claim and even then you also need some smarts and luck most times!
