I am a long haul trucker and just for grins I through one of my pans on my truck earlier this year.
Eary this morning I parked on the side of the road to wait for my appointed time to make a delivery this evening. When I parked it was still dark out but when I woke up this afternoon I noticed I was very near a decent sized creek in Western IL and thought what the heck lets go play. Well after about an hour of panning I walked away with a few grains weight of flour gold!
Who says theres no gold left in IL! I think I'll throw my mini highbanker on board next time I'm home and see if I can make it worth my time.
Over the summer I have made several such stops during my down time; mostly in CA, WA, TX, NV, AZ, UT and this year I've collected just under 1.03Tz thus far including a nice nugget in UT.
