Does anyone know of an area in the Southern California region were you can go gold panning? I'm from the Ventura County and besides trekking up Piru creek I'm unsure of any other areas close to home that I can use. I hope to join the O.C 49ers and mine those claims but until then I'd like to explore other areas. Any insight would be helpful and appreciated.

O.C. 49ers have some very good dry claims and 1 or 2 excellent claims on the Kern River. Also check out The Antelope Valley Treasure Hunters Society. Good Luck

Thank You guys for the quick feed back. I'll defiantly be taking a look at the clubs suggested and do a search on the San Gabriel.
