Well did my first prospecting outside if my own yard yesterday. My dad is in bad shape and couldn't cut his own grass, so naturally I did it for him. Living in that house growing up we played in the creek on the property. I took my pan along with me yesterday just to kinda tinker around in the creek. When I got down to about 2 tablespoons of sand in my pan I couldn't believe the amount of black sand. After carefully swishing the water around I discovered 4 colors in my pan! Tiny for sure, but gold none the less! Pictures to come!

Fantastic Duckwalk and welcome! From now on please do not refer to it as a hobby. The greenies are trying to use it against us. You are prospecting or mining. You are a prospector or miner and not a recreational prospector. It is not a hobby but a part time business or job. I hope you find lots of color and God bless you for helping your Dad.

Good Luck!

Well here are the promised pictures from my pops creek! 4 colors! That's my first prospecting adventure. Very exciting to see the gold in the pan!

Very nice! You're in a good spot. Clean out those bedrock cracks. :)
