Strip mine

Has anyone had any luck with strip mined land? In the dirt or the creeks that run from the old ponds? It was stripped in the 50-60's. Was just curious because they stir up the dirt alot and didn't know if it would have uncovered deep pockets

Did they strip down to bedrock?

I'm guessing here but weren't those strip mines for coal? I would stick with any areas that are known for gold either from glacial deposit or from any local natural deposits.

Had to get off app and onto website to see it... But I am not sure on stripping to bedrock and yes was for coal and I am no where near a natural deposit mostly around here had been stripped

In Columbia Misery theres a old /abandoned coal strip mine and a creek runs through it. I sample panned it and low and behold theres fine gold in it ! its right on top of the shale(false bedrock) bottom of the stream.
