Lancaster County is tough. Have you tried up near Columbia where the volcanic rhyolite comes up in the river? It's hit or miss here in MD.

I have never tried Columbia, but want to try Muddy Run. Problem is, it is State land.

That's some chunky stuff for glacial gold. Nice!

Yeah, I have had 4 rather large flakes. I wonder if it is glacial or not? Lots of quartz but the area is really known for shale.

I found this place by reading up on the area and tons of trial and error. The same sandbar has been giving me flakes for the last four years.
