panning on the kern river

i might be taking a brake from dry washing,were are the public places to pan on the kern river or close by there?

Hey Brad..
Theres on in the Keysville South Area .(below Isabella Dam). But there is also several claims in that area also. (One GPAA and another guys) close to public spots.... check the kiosk map when going in... and look for the GREEN OUTLINED AREAS.. theres 2 seperate areas..... there is also a couple (entering recreational mining ) road sticks on north side of river on main road.... i think you can download that map online...

Also there is old Indian areas around there also... have to watch where one digs... i hear that place turns into Party Central.... lol it is a cool area for sure.... ill definate go back after Summer is over. Water was blazing when i was there 2 weeks ago..

its funny i checked the weather in kernville and it is just as hot as the desert. oh well
