i am new to the prospecting business and have lots of questions and want to learn more and have fun aswell. i came across this rock in california. is this what oxsided gold looks like? is this rock worth my time? can i sell rock or do i have to pan it? is the buttery color in the rock gold awswell? what would gold look like like if it does oxsides in rock? 024.jpg 036.jpg 041.jpg 038.jpg 039.jpg 043.jpg

What does the assay say? Pics with very bad lighting tell nothing. Most good pick tell little. If gold is not clearly visible in the sample, only an assay will reveal what you have. If the assay does show values, only a proper interpretation of the data will tell how to properly treat the ore for recovery of values.

Based solely on the images provided, I believe you have no gold. Many rocks are similar in color. My best guess is iron stained quartz.

Time for more coffee.
