1969 20 USD 'star' note

Hey all -

I picked up a 1969 20 USD 'star' note with a low serial number. I understand the "star" notes were printed as replacements for bills pulled out of circulation, but not sure if there were doubles printed for each bill or if a certain serial number range were printed with stars.

Aside from the usual jokes of it being worth 20 dollars, (haha!) is there something that would make this command a premium to a collector? It's in pretty good shape for a circulated bill (considering the average 'life' of paper money) - by no means is it UNC condition. It has three symetrical folds, two vertical through the middle of the portrait and one centered in the left field throught the Fed Reserve seal and 'B' (mint mark?) and a shallow crease horizontally as if it were creased to stand on a counter top. I appologize for not having a photo but I'm at work and it's not allowed.

SN: B 00584937 *

Am I just "weirdin' out" because it's been so long since I've seen an older series bill?

Thanks all for the peek and some info!

Re: 1969 20 USD 'star' note

In 1969, there were 4 different series: 1969, 1969A, 1969B and 1969C.
The value of each in Unc. Condition:
1969=$120
1969A=$125
1969B=$500
1969C=$120

Look at the date to see if there is a letter underneath...

Best Wishes,
Scott

Re: 1969 20 USD 'star' note

The teller at my Credit Union handed it to me when I withdrew some cash. I was fairly excited I guess, because I haven't seen and older series in so long now!

So, when I got home, I snapped a picture of the $20 and have included it here.

I didn't notice the 4th crease in the right field and now the horizontal crease is nearly invisible.

Thanks again, all for looking!
