Is anyone up on the production figures for the newer US currency?
We all grab up the older, oft seen "small portrait" currency, but, not counting stars, what are you keeping?

I've got my list. Wanna see it? What's your list?

Best Wishes,
Scott

Is this a list of the notes you have in your personal collection or just a list of notes that have been printed?

No Sir,
It is a list that I have compiled from the newest edition of the "Small Size US Paper Money" that I had sent to my library on an inter-library loan.
I take into account the quantities printed for each of the 12 Federal Reserve Districts of the newer dates keeping in mind that this is speculation on my part based on past issued currency's appreciation.

Best,
Scott

GPURS,

I appreciate your interest in my list.
I must confess that it is somewhat proprietary in nature, considering that it is a list that I compiled based on my "Crystal Ball."

I wasn't especially wanting to post it to public domain and was hoping for an email or instant message exchange with anyone like minded.

Having made this disclaimer, I will post the list of what I have for ones.

I see you have some common runs but you've separated them by the groups printed by printing facility. For the large serial block runs I don't see that having much of a difference in value and most collectors don't collect by series/serial number block/printing facility/serial number groups. But some, like the 2003A B-K notes will definitely hold a premium in the upcoming years (possibly not even that many years). Good list, thanks for sharing.

It's been awhile since I've kept up with the "Currency" forum and thought I might update with my new list.

I've learned alot more of the intracities of currency collecting and have
recently searched through over $1000 in ones looking for items on my list,
stars, radars, repeaters, binomials, etc.

Found a few keepers.
(But, I found only 3 stars!)

This is the list I use, based upon printing productions from certain facilities; either Washington or Fort Worth.
This information was gleaned from USPaperMoney.Info: Serial Number Ranges, a site with a great deal of information.

This list is for "in the wild," circulating, $1 FRNs. Looking for these in crispy condition...

Added: The production numbers are based upon a block run of 96,000,000.

I'm working on my list for higher denominations. Can't really afford to hold back too many bigger bills. LOL!

I would love to see this thread built into sort of a stickie for paper currency. So much confusion in this area. Im just a noob but I collect star notes, low serials, repeaters, ladders etc... Old small faces and old bills in great condition.

There are SO MANY people here with such a variety of knowledge that, well, your question will be answered!

I'm always going through bank bundles and it seems that stars are getting harder to find as are alot of the ones listed above.

When I first compiled my lists, I was able to frequently find crispy examples of my searches. Then it was well circulated examples, now, any are far and few between.

I anxiously await a new series in any denomination that my calculations would indicate as "keepers!"

And when I have updates to this thread, I will post.

Keep looking y'all...there's still some out there!

Happy Hunting!

Best Wishes,
Scott

In regard to post #12,

the following have come to my attention as now being "common:"

2009

DC Ft. Worth
HB Ft. Worth
JB Ft. Worth

The production run of each of the DC and HB has peaked at 96,000,000 and the JB at 70,400,000.

Add

AC Washington 3,200,000
CD Fort Worth 6,400,00
as keeper. For now.....

I'll continue to update as I collect more info.

Best,

Scott
