Are this $5 and two $100s worth keeping?

    Hi guys,

I got some changes from the bank today, this $5 and two $100s caught my eyes.

The top $100 is really low printed on the bottom on the obverse side, a bit low on the reverse side. There is loss of ink on the center and a forward folding crease.

The middle $5 is crisp new, has a light forward folding crease but barely noticeable.

The bottom $100 has a STAR and is low number but has a small stamp on it, its crisp new and no folds at all.

    Thanks guys.

i can barely see the pic please post the serial number for the star note. i would keep the $5 because it is a small headed bill and they are getting harder to find in circulation also what series year is the $5?

ckrakowski, I am so new to paper currency I am not sure what you are asking. I have re-taken the photos for better viewing.

first the note you said as printed lower is not it is a cutting issue but not enough to be worth more then face so you can spend it. the star note is from a run of 3.2 million also known as a full run so no value over face you can spend it. as for the 5 i would keep it because it is a small headed bill and it is getting harder to find them in fact it is getting harder to find big headed non colored bills in some denoms. and from what i hear when a bank gets a small headed bill like your five they put them in a stack to be sent away and destroyed.

I also heard that banks pull small-head bills and other currency to be sent off to be destroyed. I asked at my local bank and they must have missed that memo because they had no idea what I was talking about. They did tell me that they tended to pull old red-seal or silver certificates if they see one though.
