Inform me about the paper currency process. What is the point of the serial numbers, what do they mean, what to look for, types of errors all the common stuff. I collect strictly coins, but am moving into paper money little by little.

Search eBay to see what selling. Star notes and unique serial numbers do the best!

Welcome to the dark side of Tnet. Haha no, jk, but this forum is a ghost town. People like to collect unique serial numbers, as there are very few of them produced (as you can imagine with 8 digits.) You can check this site out to see what serial numbers sell for what, I'm assuming this is a retail price. FEDERAL RESERVE NOTES The very first note of any denomination is the most desired I believe, for example C00000001A. Highly sought after serial numbers include:
Solid Serail Number 77777777 or 11111111
Ladder Serial Number 12345678 or 87654321
Repeater Serial Number 12341234 or 21342134
Radar Serial Numbers 12344321 or 98766789
Low serial Numbers 00000021 or 00000134
High Serial Number 99999912

As Easy said, star notes (depending on condition, etc.) might carry a premium as well. I'm waiting for the day where I pick up a brick of brand new one dollar bills, and the note with the solid serial number is inside. I've pulled a note with fives 5 in it 73955555 from a brick before, but that's just for my own collection, and it wouldn't carry any premium. Good luck!
